Growing up in Tucson, Arizona, we had a local fast-food franchise called Eegees. Even after googling this, it's hard for me to explain what an Eegee is - but, essentially, it’s like if Italian Ice and Slurpees had a baby. It only comes in three flavors (trust me, I’m going somewhere with this) - lemon, strawberry, and piña colada. BUT. There is a rotating flavor of the month, and out of all 12, the only one I cared about was March: Lucky Lime.
That’s what I associate this month with.
Despite not having eaten one of these slushies in over a decade, that’s still how March feels to me. Random and tangy. It’s got a weird in-between energy where it’s not quite winter, not quite spring; it keeps you guessing, a seasonally confused overachiever. It’s a transitional season for our closets and our spirits.
So its kind of fitting that this month’s collection of recs and findings is somewhat random, mostly bright, and a little bit transitional. Enjoy! 🍋🍀
Lately I’ve had Hemlocke Springs’ Going… Going… Gone! - which Paste named one of their top EPs of 2023 - playing NON. STOP. The vibey synth-pop album was written by Springs while she was studying medicine at Dartmouth, which took her on a wild career pivot opening for Doja Cat last year! 🎶
Ok - where are my crafty seamstress girlies out there who are handy with sewing machines? I have some faux couture I need to make….
I absolutely do not have money for the Simone Rocha stuffed carnation bouquet clutch bag, but I can’t stop thinking about it…. Do we think we could make this ourselves? Message me! 💐
I think this one will be easier to dupe, but I love this open-side bow dress from LOEWE. It feels like LOEWE is the new cool kid on the block, and in my hunt to find this dress I see why. 🎀
IDK If I’ll ever be able to pull off the chic scarf-over-baseball-cap trend, but stylist Becca Hane has tons of video tutorials on the best ways to tie scarves! 🧢
Ok so I’m one of those diehard Artist’s Way people, BUT I tend to think the rigidity is why most of us fall off the process after the first few chapters. (Every person in LA has a copy collecting dust somewhere…) That’s why I’m loving this series from Internet People: How To Do The Bare Minimum Artists Way ! They’re focusing on imperfection because “doing it imperfectly feels better than abandoning it completely by week 5.” LOVE! 👩🎨
I just need a minute to share my intense love for Lupita Nyong’o and her cat. I’m a huge cat person, and Ben took advantage of that fact to convince me - a very ANTI-scary movie person - to watch A Quiet Place: Day One, which cured Lupita of her crippling fear of cats, and I ended up really enjoying! 🐈
This idea for hosting a punch card party is so cute! I love the idea of getting together with friends for a craft night that’s dedicated to/focused on cheering each other on to achieve your current goals!
One of my top resolutions for 2025 is to reconfigure my spending habits. For me, this looks like doing a low-buy year, shopping more ethically (less big box stores,) and buying used anywhere I can. I recently started following Elizabeth Joy of Conscious Style, who gives really helpful and practical insights for leading a more sustainable life. She just published Your Ultimate Guide to Sustainable Alternatives to Amazon and Target, which is incredibly useful! ♻️
I’m a huge fan of both Esther Perel AND Oprah, so I was stoked to listen to them in conversation in the most recent episode of The Oprah Podcast: The Three Things EVERY Human Wants 🎧

This opinion piece from the NY Times How to Remain a Reality-Based Human in 2025 shares some comforting “meditations to help moor you to a fact- and human-centered world.” 🧘♀️
Vanity Fair just did a portrait profile of “the artists and visionaries pushing Hollywood forward in times both dark and bright,” and I love the images by Norman Jean Roy. Especially this one of of my favorite Julio Torres at the Bob Baker Marionette theatre. 🤡

Don’t Make Small Talk. Think Big Talk. Let’s please pass on talking weather, traffic, calories et all, and shift to more fulfilling social interactions. 🤝
Y’all know I’m an SNL person, so two recent pieces from Vulture caught my eye:
I’m getting increasingly curious about the future of the show post 50th season and Lorne Michaels’ 80th birthday. This quandary gets dissected in relative depth in their recent piece After Lorne. 📺
SNL is How We Talk With America weaves through the theme of legacy, and how SNL has become intertwined with New York’s identity. 🗽
Production Designer Catherine Martin, who designs all of Baz Luhrman’s movies (and also happens to be his wife,) was just interviewed for Curbed about reimagining and designing The Boiler Room bar in New York. 🍸

One of the most insightful resources for the social media field, Link in Bio, put out a great piece on the social strategy for ‘Oh, Mary!’ on Broadway, including an interview with the production’s social director, Austin Spero. 🤳

What’s inspiring you as we go into spring? Does my tangy March association make sense or do you get different vibes from this month?
Omg now I'm dying for a lime Eegee, way to go
